Little known fact about myself:
When I was a kid I LOVED all the Henson movies and the Muppets and pretty much every thing Jim Henson had a hand in (puppet pun intended)….except the Dark Crystal because that shit scary. At some point between then and now, I developed an inexplicable phobia of Muppets. A few years ago I tried to watch Fraggle Rock and nearly lost my shit.
…but right now I’m trying to watch Labyrinth. #liveblogging
OH FLASHBACK! I used to have school folders with this guy’s work on them in, like, 1995. I’m pretty confident that he was on EVERY SCHOOL SUPPLY made from 93-96.
“Does it hurt?” asked the Rabbit.
“Sometimes,” said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. “When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.”
“Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,” he asked, “or bit by bit?”
“It doesn’t happen all at once,” said the Skin Horse. “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”

Disney’s Academy Award winning songs, and the number of other awards they have won. Also, a special mention for the films with songs that were nominated for an Academy Award: Hercules, The Emperor’s New Groove, The Princess and the Frog and Tangled!
Was just inspired to make a Disney-centric “my childhood” Spotify playlist…..hm.
GOD this movie was my shit when I was little…I’m talking, like, 4 years old. I forgot about it for a looooooong time and rediscovered it a few years ago. LOVE IT.
HOLY SHIT WHO REMEMBERS DOLLZ
OMG MEEEEEEE! I wanna make some RIGHT NOW.
Who remembers this fucking game?
Oh yup, rented this bitch from Blockbuster circa 1995. Hahaha.
I wanted to be her so badly as a kid.
Oh, same! Ugh, this movie was so cute.
Not sure how many people know this but Miyazaki once wanted to do an anime adaptation of Pippi Longstocking in the 70s
but it was dropped because they couldn’t get permission from the original creator
BUT HOT DAYUM AT THE CONCEPT ART IT’S LITERALLY THE CUTEST THING…
Oh man, shut up, this would have MADE my childhood. Pippi Longstocking was one of my absolute faves.
I’m not saying I’m about to buy a bunch of rainbow-covered shit from the Lisa Frank store….
I think I still have this sticker sheet somewhere (because I am a hoarder). These kitties were my favorite characters! And I still love Lisa Frank. <3
